As part of Be Sparkle Fashion continued commitment to giving back to the community in the midst of COVID-19, the fashion company donated dual layered cotton reusable face masks to Oncology Consultants to help equip the healthcare staff with proper protection from the virus.

Be Sparkle Fashion Co-owners Myriam Gateault and Victor Mora presented the masks to Oncology Consultants’ President Dr. Luis Campos on August 7, 2020. The donation builds upon the spirit of the company’s mission to support nonprofit organizations who lead the fight against women battling cancer.

“These masks are helping us care for our patients, keeping them and our staff safe from the coronavirus,” Dr. Luis T. Campos said. “We appreciate the support from Be Sparkle Fashion, helping us to continue to provide state-of-the-art treatment in a caring environment as our patients fight against cancer.”

The donation to Oncology Consultants had a personal meaning to the owners. Be Sparkle Fashion was developed while Mora was undergoing chemotherapy at Oncology Consultant’s Sugar Land clinic, as he worked on his laptop.

Dr. Devesh Pandya, an Oncologist and Hematologist at Oncology Consultants, said: “The entire staff and family at Oncology Consultants thanks Be Sparkle’s generosity and diligence in keeping cancer patients safe during this global pandemic. It is amazing to join together with great companies, such as, Be Sparkle Fashion to continue the fight against cancer.”

“This business was started as a passion-project combining our love for fashion with wanting to give back to those battling cancer,” Gateault said. In addition to the face mask donations, Be Sparkle Fashion wants to go further by donating cancer hats to Oncology Consultants’ heroes.

Since that beginning, Be Sparkle Fashion has expanded from their original signature cancer cap to sparkle hats, cowboy boots, tights and other accessory items, and now, face masks.

When COVID-19 swept the world, Be Sparkle Fashion repurposed their business to provide high-quality durable cotton masks.  These masks aren’t like the ones sewn at home – they are 100% Jersey cotton double-sided with a filter pocket opening to add an optional 2.5 PM carbon filter. They come in child and adult sizes with an adjustable ear piece and in multiple colors.

The cloth face coverings are intended to help prevent respiratory droplets and secretions from becoming airborne while coughing, sneezing or speaking. They are considered an enhancement to safety protocols as social distancing is still in effect while wearing it.

For each order, Be Sparkle Fashion is making a donation to a local non-profit or to first responders and are working directly with companies to do a custom donation program to complement their community outreach initiatives.
